10 YEARS AGO, that was me, riding in my 1st Le Tour de Femme! What a journey it has been, and since then I cherish everyday.

After breast cancer in 2002, I had a 1% chance of recurrence, so it was a bug surprise to discover in 2009 the cancer returned. My husband and boys could not join me in the all women's ride, so I showed up to the ride not knowing a single person and left with a community of friends that I cherish and look forward to seeing every year. This ride has become my cancer anninversary celebration.

Today I ride for all of those going through cancer treatment. The money we raise goes to organizations- The Angel Fund at Rex and the Kay Yow Foundation, that assist cancer warriors in practical ways during their treatment.
