Early this week, I spoke to my Aunt Josie who had a procedure on her breast to check for cancer cells. At that moment, it hit home that here I am training for my very first organized cycling event and it is no accident it’s for a cause I believe in so much. Cancer is the most expensive and costliest disease out there. It’s costed my family time, money, and energy. We've experienced my Grandaddy and Uncle Leo's death, along with Aunt Shirley and Aunt Josie's survival with early detection and invasive treatment. I thank God my aunts' journey is not over, therefore, neither is mine...so I ride.
