Greetings Family and Friends ~
Can you believe October is rapidly approaching?! In our family we celebrate the month of October for so many reasons. One being the celebration of the birth of most of the ladies in my family ~ my mom, Jen (sil), our sweet Sage, and me! Hard to believe I brought Sage home on my birthday almost 2 years ago!! October is the time of year I feel so thankful for the changing of the seasons and most importantly, just being alive and healthy and being able to enjoy all the upcoming holiday season has to offer.
In our lives these days, we unfortunately all know of someone who has passed or is currently fighting or in remission from cancer. The le Tour de Femme charity ride that I am participating in this year for the first time will be in honor of all those that I have been so fortunate to know and love that have been affected by cancer. Please join me in supporting an amazing local nonprofit organization raise money for Rex Hospital Angel Fund, which since the inception of this Tour charity ride has donated $102,000 to the Angel Fund. The Angel Fund serves Rex Healthcare cancer patients with unique financial needs (including transportation, living expenses and prescriptions) as they cope with the hardships associated with their treatment. The program fills gaps where other services are not available. This fund also helps provide accessories like free wigs, scarves, prosthesis, bras, tote bags, pillows and lap quilts for patients coping with cancer. In addition, money is also donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Thank you all for your continued support and please tell me who you would like me to think of during my 62.4 mile ride ~ I hope to send pictures of the ride afterwards to share my experience with you. Any donations are graciously appreciated and if you intend to donate, please do so by the October 1st deadline.
If you would like more information about the nonprofit, it is Grab my Wheel and their website is http://grabmywheel.net/#
Many thanks again,
Sharon
