Denise Rhodes founded Team Kathleen in 2016 to celebrate the end of my second go-round with cancer. Unfortunately, things did not turn out as planned. Just before the 2016 ride, I learned the cancer had not only returned, but was stage IV and incurable. While the rest of the team participated in the ride, I spent time with my grandson.

I opted out of traditional chemo and instead worked with my doctor to receive an auto-immune inhibitor. It was a shot in the dark, but it has worked so far! As of this date, I remain cancer free and am registered to ride in 2018!
